2009 ACHPER South Australian Health and Physical Education Conference:

The ACHPER (SA) Branch would like to thank all those that attended and supported the popular South Australian Health and Physical Education Conference, held on April 14th and 15th, 2009 at Westminster School, Marion. Your support of this conference was most appreciated by ACHPER and we hope that you found the conference valuable.

We were delighted to attract 215 delegates over the 2 days. Initial feedback outlines another successful conference!

The Conference featured a dynamic program, hosting over 80 sessions relevant for all HPE teachers. This was the largest and most varied PD opportunity for HPE educators, health, sport and recreation professionals in 2009.

Keynote speakers included modern day adventurer and mountain climber Duncan Chessell who has climbed Mount Everest twice, and has also conquered the 'Seven Summits'. Duncan lead an inspirational presentation including breathtaking vision. Greg Gebhart is a former physical education and multimedia teacher who is currently employed as a consultant to the Australian Communication and Media Authority. Greg highlighted the technology world that children live in, the risks they are exposed to and the opportunities for HPE teachers and other professionals to make a critical difference in children's well being.
