Early Career Health and Physical Education Teacher's Program

The Early Career HPE Teachers Program has been successfully held by ACHPER (SA) in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Following this success, review and evaluation has begun into the implementation of another program will be at the Annual State HPE Conference, held on the 19th and 20th April at Prince Alfred College - for more information, keep an eye out on the conference page - Click Here

This program is for Health and Physical Education teachers who are in their first two years of teaching. The program has been held during the Term 1 school holidays as part of the South Australian Health and Physical Education Conference.

The program offers two formal and informal seminars where early career teachers in Health and Physical Education will receive advice from experienced Health and Physical Education teachers.

The program in 2009 allowed teachers to reflect on their practice, and also establish a mentor to support them throughout 2009. Support on major issues included classroom and behaviour management, report writing, conducting parent interviews and, programming and sequencing learning. There was also a Q&A panel session where you could seek the advice from experienced panel members and mentors.

If you are interested in attending the 2012 seminar, please email info@achpersa.com.au to be included on the event database. We wish all our beginning teachers the best of luck!
