Thank you to all the schools who registered for the 2013 be active Physical Education Week, we are pleased to announce that a total of 210 schools and 56,500 students across SA participated in the week and celebrated the importance of active and healthy living. Schools were encouraged to coordinate activities in their own school to raise the profile of be active Physical Education Week and embrace this years' theme of ‘Promoting Active and Healthy Living!'.
IDM Sports Physical Education Week Dinner 2013
The popular Physical Education Week Dinner was held on Friday, 8 November and highlighted the importance of PE Week and featured guest speakers Shelley Nitschke (Cricket), Thanasi Kokkanakis (Tennis) and Leah Cece (Beach Handball), entertainment, and a number of School/Early Childhood, Educator and Volunteer Physical Education Week awards were presented.
Metropolitan Come and Try Days
The very popular Metropolitan Come and Try Days were again offered to schools throughout the week. ACHPER was very lucky with the weather on the three come and try days, and all schools enjoyed participating in the activities.
The 2013 be active SIMULTANEOUSLY across the state occured on Friday 15 November at 9.30am with 93 schools participating.
