ACHPER (SA) - The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, SA Branch Incorporated welcomes you to be involved in Physical Education Week 2018 which will be conducted in Week 5 of Term 4 from 12 - 16 November.

Physical Education Week promotes the importance of Health & PE in the Australian Curriculum, and highlights the importance of Health & PE to the learning and development of children and young people. All students have a right to receive quality physical education teaching and learning programs - Physical Education Week promotes these opportunities.

Corporate Cup

ACHPER (SA) are the proud owners of the Corporate Cup. The Corporate Cup is a team walking or running event and is held once a fortnight over 16 weeks. You can run or walk courses in the CBD, Port Adelaide, Mawson Lakes or Somerton. It's a marvelous event for team building, personal fitness and developing an active lifestyle. This is a great event for schools and organisation to form a team and aims to improve your physical activity over 16 weeks. While there's heaps of prizes your health will be the real winner. National Health & Physical Education (H&PE) Day

ACHPER encourages schools, children, teachers and communities to take photos and videos of active participation in physical activity and upload them onto social media using the #HPEday hashtag. ACHPER would like to thank AFL Schools for their support of National HPE Day.

eat well be active - Primary Schools Project

The eat well be active - Primary Schools project was funded by SA Health and co-managed with the Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS) aiming to build the capacity of schools.

The eat well be active - Primary Schools project gave schools an opportunity to work with an appointed Service Provider for an extended 2 years since December 2011 to build and promote sustainable curriculum outcomes and to provide supportive environments for healthy eating and physical activity.

This initiative was phased into 129 schools with enrolement in Reception to Year 7 since its commencement in Term 2, 2009.

ACHPER (SA) was contracted as a Service Provider by SA Health from Term 2 2009 to Term 4, 2013, and worked with 116 schools.
